Stallion HorseMarket Presents;
Contester reflects the qualities of his legendary bloodlines, natural balance, elastic gaits, commanding presence and outstanding character. Holsteiner royalty is what is represented in his lineage. His sire, Contender is a legend in Europe as well as the US and is most likely the most influential living stallion today. Contender's sire, Calypso II, is himself an International Show jumper. Contester's Grandsire, Cor de la Bryère, a sire of great sires, produces both top show jumping horses as well as highly successful dressage prodigy. Contester also traces to the desirable lines of Ladykiller. This highly talented stallion's list of accomplishments grows every year with numerous national USDF/Cosequin Breed honors including the 2003 Stallion Champion at the prestigious Devon Breed Show. Under saddle, Contester has an impressive series of wins as well, including the 2004 West Coast FEI 6-Year-Old Dressage Horse Selection Trials Championship, as well as both the USDF and CDS 2nd level Championships. In 2005, he advanced to 4th level and claimed the CDS HOY Reserve Champion. The year 2007 proved to be another great one as Contester showed at Fourth level and Prix St Georges with scores to 74%. He is currently schooling all the Grand Prix movements and showing exceptional talent for the piaffe and passage.
Drop dead gorgeous, with an outstanding character and work ethic. He has powerful, uphill gaits that looks like he’s climbing the stairs. Piaffe and Passage come naturally as he is “..built to do the Grand Prix.” said one judge who saw him at 4th level. Unlimited possibilities is what this Grand Prix up and comer is showing us, both in the competition ring as well as the breeding shed! We are pleased to report that in 2006, Contester completed his sport performance requirements for stallion licensing and is now fully approved for breeding with the Holsteiner, KWPN-NA (Dutch) and Oldenburg (GOV) Verbands. Please call for a video of this proven sire. Photo Credits: Mark Muntean Contact: Dara Rip |
