In May, 2001, Anne and David Gribbons sold their Knoll Farm Facility, in Brentwood, Long Island, New York, and moved to Florida. After 35 years of owning a large training facility, hosting shows, and managing a breeding program, it was time to make a shift in their lives. They purchased 50 acres of land in Chauluota, Florida, just 30 minutes from the Orlando Airport, an important location requirement for Anne’s busy international judging schedule. Together, they designed and built the ideal facility for Anne’s horses, students, and horses in training, as well as for David’s car collection and equipment, and customized horse vans he maintains.

Knoll Farms offers year-round full training and care at its best. It has a large covered arena, and outdoor dressage arena for practicing tests, or just training, all with perfect footing which is meticulously maintained and designed by David. There is also a jumping course and cross country fences and 600 acres of public horse trails, with loads of wildlife and cool forests.

This all new horse farm is European styled to compliment Anne’s Swedish heritage. Surrounded by beautiful woodland, you are assured of complete privacy while training. Centrally located, the facility is within an easy commuting distance to all shows in the South East. The barns and arena withstood the barrage of 2004 hurricanes and was an evacuation location for many local horse owners who were concerned about their barns.

The covered arena measures 90 by 220 feet with one 90 foot side that is mirrored. The high insulated roof and open sides make riding much more pleasant providing protection from the intense Florida sun, rain, and heat. The arena is surrounded by a 4 foot tiled tongue and groove pine wall and has a sprinkler system for dust control. The footing, David’s special formula, is graded and worked daily. To enhance the training, the arena has a high quality sound system for practicing freestyles, designed and installed by Brian O’Connor, Speakeasy, LTD, of Annandale, VA.

The two high roofed concrete-stucco barns with large coup palas give wonderful ventilation. All 22 stalls are each 12x12 Loddon designed. Each barn has its own air conditioned feed room, tack room, bathroom with a shower and laundry room. There are two interior wash stalls with hot and cold water. Nine pastures and paddocks, with irrigation and automatic water system.

The Loddon stalls each have sliding doors. There is an interior door to the 15 foot wide rubber brick isle way and an exterior door under a 12 foot overhang, to protect against sun and rain. The exterior doors all have a folding grill that can be opened so the horse can keep their head out, if the owner wishes.

The roomy barns have plenty of storage space for tack trunks and hanging racks custom designed and built by David, for blankets and sheets. Facilities also include a laundry room which has a large commercial washer and dryer for all your horse laundry needs.

Accommodations are available for those owners who wish to stay for a short or longer period while their horse is in training, with several furnished studio apartments.
