CN (Canadian National Railway Company) is the title sponsor of the five-day show, entitled CN Wellington Open.

The featured event is the $75,000 CN Florida Open Grand Prix presented by Estates at Wellington Green, CSI-W, which will be held on Sunday, March 7, starting at 2 pm. The winner receives $22,500 and the H.R. “Kappy” Kaplan Perpetual Memorial Trophy. The 10-week Winter Equestrian Festival continues through March 21 in Wellington, and then moves on to Tampa, Florida, from March 24 through April 3.

CN is the only railroad that crosses the continent from east-to-west and from north-to-south, serving ports on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf coasts while linking customers to all three North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) nations. CN revenues derive from the movement of a diversified and balanced portfolio of goods including petroleum and chemicals, grain and fertilizers, coal, metals and minerals, forest products, inter-modal and automotive. To better respond to customers, in 2003 CN created three geographic regions: Western Canada (based in Edmonton), Eastern Canada (based in Toronto), and the United States (based in Homewood, Illinois).

“There are parallels between the competitors’ quest for excellence at the Winter Equestrian Festival and CN’s goals as a company,” said Hunter Harrison, CN’s President and CEO. “Just as speed, precision and timing are instrumental to becoming a champion show jumper, these are the same things that have made us a leader in the transportation industry.”
