2008 Horse
Shows by the Bay Begins July 16!
The
2008 Horse Shows by the Bay equestrian festival will be held on July
16 through August 3 at the Flintfields Horse Park in Traverse City,
MI. Equestrian media are asked to please contact Jennifer Wood at

Horse Shows by the Bay features three weeks of competition for the
hunter, jumper, and equitation disciplines. There will also be two
dressage shows held during the final week of the show. Dressage by
the Bay is on July 30-August 1 and August 2-3.
Recognized by United States Equestrian Federation and United States
Dressage Federation as a rated show series, Dressage by the Bay Series
I&II consists of two back to back events. These events qualify
riders for the Great American Insurance Group Regional Championships
and the series is also a USDF Breeder's Championship Qualifier. New
this year are the Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Classes and the Individual
Breed Classes.
Horse Shows by the Bay is acknowledged by the World Championship Hunter
Rider Awards Program as a member event and will be part of the USHJA
International Hunter Style Derby Challenge National Tour. It offers
three $25,000 grand prix events as well as classes for the beginning
rider. New for this year are the hunter breeding divisions.
Held at the 80-acre show complex Flintfields, the show offers five
rings of competition, exhibitions, special family day activities, and
charity fundraisers. It offers numerous sponsorship opportunities and
benefits. The shows are managed by Dean and Alexandra Rheinheimer,
who collectively have more than 20 years of experience managing and
